Here are some of my favourite shops and services in Langley. I plan to add more businesses as time permits so please check back often. To all of my friends that are not listed here yet...sorry, I'm working on it : )
Home Products / Health Care
- Watkins Products (okay, this one is a shameless plug for my wife's home based business). If you are looking to purchase any Watkins Products, please email Lauren at laurenmclean@shaw.ca
- WineKitz 9292 200 Street. I'm not a huge fan of whine but my wife likes it. We've made a few batches here and they've all turned out pretty well. We'll be trying one of the Estate Kits next. Ask for the owner Ken.
- Shoppers Drug Mart. Walnut Grove beside the IGA and 6335 200th Street behind Earls Restaurant. Who knew I'd actually enjoy shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart. The new store designs are very pleasant. Very clean and organized. We check the flyers every week and almost always find some bargains. Best price I've found for 4 litre milk. Prices can be high if the item is not on sale but for a stress free shopping experience, these stores are great. Oh, and they have a Post Office in the back if you need one.
Groceries
- IGA (Walnut Grove) 20159 88th Avenue. Great service and always a pleasant shopping experience. You generally won't find long lines, the store is always clean and organized, free popcorn and hockey on the TV's. Watch the sales flyers and the prices are as good as the larger stores.
- Real Canadian Super Store 19851 Willowbrook Drive. I hate this store...really I do...but we shop here approximately once per month when we need to stock up. The prices are usually the lowest in town but expect crowded isles and long lines at the checkouts. We also have PC Mastercards that give us free groceries. We'll be using our PC Points for a free Nintendo Wii
next month.
Men's Clothing
- Dunn's Tailors 20159 88th Avenue (Beside the IGA in Walnut Grove). I need all of the help I can get when it comes to clothes. Zenon and the guys at Dunn's are great. I just walk in, tell the guys I need help and they bring me what I need. Awesome service every time.
Pet Store
- Bosley's (Walnut Grove, beside IGA) As the not always proud owner of two Beagles and a skinny orange cat, we make more than our share of trips to the pet store for supplies. The staff is great at Bosley's, they recognize us and know that our Beagles need low fat Innova dog food. The store is small but clean and well laid out. Occasionally they don't have the food that we want but they always order it for us when we need it.
Fast(ish) Food
- Mr Choo's 20330 88th Ave Walnut Grove. Chinese food take-out. What can I say, good tasting chinese food that's hot and ready to go. When you are in a rush, you can be in and out in 5 minutes. Prices are fair but they charge 10 cents for the fortune cookie...huh?
- Pho Tau Bay Vietnamese Restaurant 5790 203 Street (across from the Fire Hall). Not high class dining by any means but very friendly staff and great tasting Pho Soup. Bring your debit card or cash because they don't take credit cards. We eat there most of the time but you can also get "Pho to Go"
- Me'n Ed's Pizza. 20270 Fraser Highway. Not your typical pizza joint. We always get take out but it looks like a fun place to stay and eat too. Try the Soprano...yummy. I think a large will run you approx. $25 or so.
Car Dealership
- Langley Volkswagen. 20027 Fraser Highway. We purchased our 2009 VW Tiguan 2.0 Turbo from them. Great service from the sales department (Ask for Chris). Service dept. has been okay.
Toys and Hobbies
- Large Scale Radio Control Cars. These are the toys for big boys (and girls) This is a hobby that I've had since I was a kid. I've taken my hobby to a higher level and sell 1/5th scale gasoline powered R/C cars and trucks. If you are looking for the ultimate toy for yourself or a gift for someone that has everything, give me a call and I'll show you some amazing machines (Approximate cost is $1000 - $2000 each). I have FG Modellsport from Germany as well as Smartech and Redcat Racing from China. I may also be able to get the new Exceed Barca
soon.
Online and Miscellaneous
- Domain Registration: I like 1and1 better than GoDaddy
simply because it's cheaper. I've used both services and they are equally easy to use. I've paid as little as $5.99 at 1and1 but GoDaddy is usually $9.99
- Virtual Fax and Toll Free Phone Number:
I use RingCentral for my virtual fax and love it. I can send and
receive all of my faxes right from my laptop. It couldn't be easier. Click here to try RingCentral Fax FREE for 30 days
